  • Basement Walls

It is recommended to add SONOpan to key basement walls where noise is generated such as mechanical rooms and washrooms. This will prevent unwanted noises WITHIN the basement.

It is also recommended to soundproof walls where flanking could be of concern. Flanking is the paths that allow sound to travel. For extreme soundproofing applications walls should be treated to ensure flanking doesn’t take place.

    Working With SONOpan

Cutting - For best cut results use a circular saw. When cutting inside the use of a dust vacuum is recommended

Fastening - Secure with drywall screws and washers. If applying directly to wood 7/16 crown staples or large head nails can be used

Finishing - Seal the perimeter of the wall or ceiling and any gaps with acoustical sealant. Drywall sheets should be offset to improve soundproofing
